Installation: Rectangular Gazebo Using Brushwood

Please Read Carefully Prior to Commencing Installation

Brustics brushwood gazebos are carefully designed and manufactured to suit a wide variety of applications. However, it is possible that in certain circumstances their application may not be suitable.

It is the sole responsibility of the person installing the gazebos to ensure the suitability product. No claims whatsoever can be accepted for any loss, directly or indirectly, caused by installing the product in an unsuitable manner or location.

It is strongly recommended that you read these instructions in full before commencing installation. As with erecting any form of structure a certain level of knowledge, fitness and commonsense are required. It is the installer's responsibility to ensure they have the necessary skills to carry out the installation. Should you require assistance, we have trained operators who can answer your questions and, if required, may be able to make a site visit to provide assistance. Please note a charge is normally made for site visits.

Rectangular Gazebo Installation Instructions

Assembling the Frame

  1. Lay 100mm x 100mm beams on level surface 2.4m (outside to outside) apart with rafter marks up and arrows matching.
  2. Fix prefabricated rafters with 2 skewed 75mm nails to beams where marked, with birdsmouths fitting snugly.
  3. Measure diagonally and adjust so that beams are lying squarely and brace temporarily.
  4. Lay purlins across rafters, where marked and nail (60mm nails). Roof structure now complete.
  5. Lay roof structure in desired position and mark on ground at points B (centre and end of beam).
  6. Move structure to one side and move marks 60mm inwards. These new marks are the centres of the post holes (200mm diameter and 600mm deep).
  7. Ensure that the bottoms of the holes are clean and level and place poles in each, thick end down. Prop poles approximately plumb and mark level heights on poles approximately 2.1m from ground level. Remove from holes one by one, cutting squarely at level mark and replace in same hole. (Important as holes probably vary in depth).
  8. Plumb and brace one pole securely and prop the other three as in 7. With assistance, lift roof structure on to poles and fix with 100mm skewed nails. With level and eye adjust the three poles till visually aligned. Concrete and allow to set.

Assembling the Roof

  1. First lay opposing centre panels, equidistant from each end and touching at the ridge. Lay remaining panels carefully so as not to shift those previously laid. Sight along gutter line and adjust if not straight and staple down – 3 per panel on bottom purlin and 2 per panel on centre purlin. (Take care that the vibration does not move loose panels).
  2. Fit ridge capping and fix down using wire ties.fence_instruc_loops
  3. After fixing panels in position, cut and remove links at edges, straighten loops and re-loop to each other. (If wires are a little short, grip wire with pliers and tap sideways). Snip off extra wire for neatness.
  4. Push brush together to fill gaps.

  • "We would just like to say that we absolutely enjoy the thatched hut from your company. It is brilliant and once we have photos we will send them to you. We would also like to say that Martin and his team were very professional and the job they carried out with the hutt and the deck looks great. We have no hesitation in recommending your company's thatched huts and installation to any prospective buyers. They are also more then welcome to come and see what the final product looks like in our back yard."
