Square Gazebo Installation Instructions
Assembling the Frame
- On a flat area lay out mitred 100 x 100 beams and screw together. Ensure diagonal measurements are the same and brace when square.
- Fix with 75mm nails the opposing pre-drilled shorter rafters to central block and to beams where marked. Then fix hip rafters (long) to central block and corners. Sight hip rafters and brace straight if slightly bent.
- Place purlins on rafters and raise and lower till they join in the centre of the hip rafters and are parallel with the lines of the beams. Drill and fix with 65mm nails. Remove braces and fix bottom and top purlins in same manner.
- Posts – Place structure in desired situation and mark on ground the corners of the beams. Points 90mm diagonally in are the centres of 250mm diameter holes. Move framing and dig holes 600mm deep and ensure that the bottoms of the holes are clean and level.
- With packers or large wedges hold posts (2.7 x 125mm square) approximately plumb in holes and mark a level point from post to post 2.1m from ground. Remove post one by one and cut off squarely at this mark (Do not mix posts as holes will vary in depth) and replace in holes.
- Plumb and securely brace one post, temporarily plumb remainder with packers and lift roof structure into place (you will need some help). Fix with 100mm nails, (skewed) four per post, pre-drilling holes.
- Plumb remaining posts, brace to hold firm and concrete in place.
Assembling the Roof
- Lay centre panels on roof with approximately 75mm overhang. Lay triangular panels on each side and adjust until overhang is consistent and straight (gaps may be appearing over hips but these are not noticeable when capped).
- Staple through panels and into purlins (approximately 400mm apart).
- Lay half caps up the hips. Pieces will need to be cut to length to complete the run. Where gaps are apparent up the hips and at the peak, small bundles of loose brush can be inserted and the caps fixed down with wire ties.

- Excessive fastening is not required, as there is very little "lift" in windy conditions.
- After fixing panels in position, cut and remove links at edges, straighten loops and re-loop to each other. (If wires are a little short, grip wire with pliers and tap sideways). Snip off extra wire for neatness.
Push brush together to fill gaps.
